- Can a Caregiver create a Treatment Protocol?
- No. The Admin should be creating Treatment Protocols with the help or instruction of a Veterinarian.
- Is it required to add the dosage information for each medication when creating a Treatment Protocol?
- Yes. Dosage information is a required field and must be filled out before completing the Treatment Protocol.
- Does the Caregiver get a notification when a Treatment Protocol is created?
- Yes. The Caregiver should receive a SMS/Text notification, Email notification and a notification inside the app.
- Can you disable a Treatment Protocol once it is created?
- Yes. You can disable a Treatment for the group, the farm or both. However, if a Treatment Protocol is active for a group, it must be reported for the group or it will still appear on the Caregivers Daily Checkup.
- How can I remove a farm from a Global Treatment Protocol?
- The Admin will need to go to navigate to Treatment Protocols, find the farm they wish to remove and disable the Treatment Protocol there. The farm cannot be removed from the Global Treatment Protocol itself.
- If I make a change to a Treatment Protocol, will it appear for all groups it is connected to?
- No. If the Treatment Protocol is already appearing as a prompt on a Daily Checkup, the change will not appear for that group. The change will only appear for all new groups that the Treatment Protocol is applied to.
- If EveryPig Scheduling isn’t used and the user creates a Treatment Protocol for a Sow Unit then sets that Sow Unit as the source when creating the group, will the Treatment Protocol be applied to that group?
- No. For Treatment Protocols to be inherited correctly, EveryPig Scheduling should be active and used by the users.
- If EveryPig Scheduling is used and the user creates a Treatment Protocol for a Sow Unit then schedules an arrival load from that Sow Unit to a N or WF, will the Treatment Protocol be applied to that group?
- Yes. The Treatment Protocol is inherited from Sow Unit to N when Logistics is activated. When the arrival is scheduled from SU to N, the protocol from the Sow Unit will be applied to the destination group (At the nursery). Without Logistics being enabled on the account, the Treatment Protocol won't be inherited properly.
- When multiple shipments are created for a group, will the Treatment Protocol be applied for each shipment?
- Yes. When the second shipment is created and the Treatment Protocol is active, the Treatment Protocol will be applied to all pigs under care (inventory) automatically. The user won’t need to create a new Treatment Protocol for each shipment.
- If the shipments arrive on the same day, will the Treatment Protocol be duplicated for each shipment?
- No. The Treatment Protocol will be applied to the group once for both shipments. The head-treated should reflect all pigs under care after the second shipment was received.
- If the user selects 'Apply on Arrival' when creating a Treatment Protocol at a Nursery Farm, how does this impact EveryPigs ability to apply the Treatment Protocol?
- Apply on Arrival was developed for the use of groups leaving Sow Units. The user should create the Treatment Protocol for the Sow Unit. When the user selects ‘Apply on arrival’, the Treatment Protocol start date will be inherited from the date the shipment was created. When the group/shipment is connected to the Sow Unit, the Treatment Protocol will automatically be applied to the group.
- How does EveryPig calculate the treatment directions? For example: If the Treatment Protocol is created and the Treatment directions say to treat between week 2 and week 3 on feed, how does EP calculate that and when to prompt the CG on the Daily Checkup?
- If a group starts on 11/30, the weeks tracked in EveryPig will go like this:
- Week 1: 11/30-12/6
- Week 2: 12/7-12/14
- Week 3: 12/14-12/20
- If a group starts on 11/30, the weeks tracked in EveryPig will go like this:
- If there are multiple shipments arriving at a farm on different days, will the Treatment Protocol be applied to each shipment automatically? I.e Shipments are scheduled for Monday/Wednesday/Friday to the same group.
- Yes. The Treatment Protocol will appear on the Daily Checkup once for the Caregiver to report.
- Can or should users use the ‘Apply on Arrival’ feature if multiple shipments will arrive all in one day?
- If all shipments arrive in one day, to the same farm/group, yes. Users can also use this option if there is only one shipment of pigs for the group. As long as the Treatment Protocol is created for a Sow Unit, this will work as described.
- Since we do not track groups at a Sow Unit and it is considered an external source, what is the correct scenario to use ‘Apply on Arrival’?
- Migration from a Sow Unit (when EVeryPig Scheduling is being used to schedule arrival loads), to an open group at a Nursery or WF site.
- Can Admin users delete a medication connected to a Treatment Protocol?
- Yes. They will need to do so through Barn Sheets.
- If there is an issue with a treatment given from the Treatment Protocol, how should a user correct it?
- Admin users should go to the Daily Checkup and correct the issue. Admin users are the only ones who can update information regarding a Treatment Protocol.
- If a Caregiver doesn't report a medication connected to a Treatment Protocol within the treatment directions, what happens?
- EveryPig will continue to prompt the user each day until the medication is reported and the requirements from the Treatment Protocol are met.
- Can the Caregiver edit head-treated when reporting Treatment Protocols?
- Yes.
